Arena Attendant


Reports to: Operation Manager

 

Scope

Under the direction the direction of the Operation Coordinator, ensure that floods are done on time with safety being a prime concern. Primary responsibilities include ice resurfacing, edging, janitorial work & (T’s) ice plant / compressor log readings, & some HVAC troubleshooting.

 As a member of the facility team the position provides cooperative assistance within all areas of the business.  The attitude demonstrated in fulfilling the responsibilities shows a clear understanding of our customers’ need for service excellence and are committed to it.

General Responsibilities and Duties

  • Flooding, edging and other ongoing maintenance of ice as scheduled.
  • (T) Monitor the ice plant regularly, keeping appropriate notes / records or reports.
  • Participating in keeping all areas of the facility neat and tidy as well as safe at all times.
  • Dressing room cleanliness.
  • Making sure that all entrances are kept clear and safe of all debris and snow.
  • Do minor maintenance on facility and ice maintenance equipment.
  • Responding to customers needs in a kind and courteous manner.
  • A team member, supporting and contributing throughout the facility and the business. Perform a variety of maintenance repairs as necessary.  This may include changing boards, glass, painting, and other minor repairs.  Capable of handling power and hand tools safely.
  • Perform such other duties in maintenance as may be required such as by the daily operation of the Zamboni. Like changing and toping up fluids, greasing, changing of blades, and other general maintenance.  
  • Supports and promotes a safe workplace
  • Performs any other related duties as required.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications/Special Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude & all around knowledge of mechanical equipment.
  • Possess a positive work ethic and the ability to work with / communicate with Customers.
  • Ability to use various equipment and tools common to the role and the facility.
  • Must work well with peers and Management.
  • Must have good organization skills and good communication skills
  • Flexible with respect to shifts, ability to work evenings, weekends, graveyard and days.
  • Must have a minimum of 1-year experience in the above field.
  • Basic Computer knowledge an asset. 

Experience and Education

  • Must have 1 years’ experience and Arena Operator Level 1
  • Solid communication skills.
